The historic Cranage Hall Cheshire lies amid 20 acres of delightful landscaped gardens and wider grounds in the Cheshire countryside. The main manor house dates back to 1828-29  and is grade two listed. The property has been extended to offer all the facilities of a modern conference centre and is a relaxing base from which to explore the impressive surroundings. The hotel is close to the village of Holmes Chapel, which offers convenient rail links into Crewe and Manchester.


The Cranage Hall has 151 modern bedrooms filled with up to date accessories such as free WiFi and plasma TVs. There are bright and comfortable standard double and twin rooms, superior rooms, family doubles and suites.

Standard Rooms

These well appointed, contemporary rooms benefit from being slightly larger than the average hotel room at 22 square metres. The rooms are great value and perfectly suited for short stays and business guests.

Larger than the standard rooms, at 30 squares metres. The added space gives guests a seating area from which they can enjoy the garden views; a standard feature in these upgraded rooms.

A fixture of all Principal Hayley hotels, the Tempus Restaurant offers relaxed, modern, brasserie style cuisine with welcome focus placed on the use of locally sourced, seasonal produce.

The presence of lovely gardens at the Cranage Hall Cheshire is a great draw for those holding meetings and events. The grounds are ideal for outdoor team building activities and provide the perfect opportunity to catch a breath of fresh air between meetings. The 28 meeting rooms are named after famous inventors and scientists, so delegates will be hoping for the light bulb to flick on in the Edison Room and for some added inspiration as the name Bell rings in the ears. The Stephenson is the largest space and can hold up to 200 delegates in a cabaret layout or 300 in a theatre style.

The Cranage Hall has an abundance of leisure opportunities for guests to enjoy. As well as enjoying the indoor swimming pool, LED-lit steam room and whirlpool guests may wish to pamper themselves with a relaxing beauty treament. Please note that splash times apply for younger guests.

For the more active there is a well-equipped gym, an aerobics studio and tennis courts.


As well as being a busy conference venue the Cranage Hall Cheshire is eminently suitable for family breaks. From here, families can conveniently head to Manchester to explore the delights of the vibrant city centre. The Jodrell Bank Observatory and Chester Zoo are also within easy reach.

By air:  Manchester Airport is just 20 minutes drive away

By rail:  The nearest mainline railway stations to Cranage Hall are Crewe and Macclesfield which are both approximately 20 minutes by taxi. The closest local station is Holmes Chapel, just five minutes away and perfect for travelling into Manchester city centre. 

By car:  Ample on site parking is available and is free to all visitors to the hotel.
