The Grand Connaught Rooms is a fairly young venue, but the building's heritage includes underlying connections with the Freemasons. The Freemasons’ Tavern stood here until 1775, having acted as a meeting place and headquarters of the organisation since 1717. In 1908 the venue was divided up. Its dining rooms were renamed the Connaught Rooms after the First Duke of Connaught, who was the Masonic Grand Master at the time.

Its palatial interior features marble floors, wood panelling and crystal chandaliers. There are 30 meeting rooms in total as well as break-out areas and sub-conference spaces. Indeed this historic building can hold up to 4,500 delegates on any one day for events of all shapes and sizes. The largest area is the beautiful Grand Hall which can host 1,000 guests for a reception or 750 theatre style. While for something a little different the Rooftop Terrace makes a fantastic party venue for up to 80 guests.All the rooms are well equipped with all the latest technology and skilled technicians are on hand to ensure that your event runs without a hitch.
