The traditional ivy-clad Horwood House is set in 38 acres of landscaped grounds in the Buckinghamshire countryside. With its arched gatehouse, quarter of a mile drive with lime trees and attractive gardens it feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere, and yet Milton Keynes town centre is just 11 miles away. Historic charm and modern amenities combine to offer an excellent venue for conferences and meetings as well as just an overnight stay or a weekend break.
The original Elizabethan-style manor house was built in 1911 for Frederick Arthur Denny on the site of a former 300-year-old farmhouse. It featured 14 bedrooms and five bathrooms as well as a further nine bedrooms for servants. The wider estate comprised an impressive 482 acres of parkland, woods, a village hall, two farms and 11 cottages. Later a series of more modern structures were added to the property and in 2006 its present owners, the Principal Hayley group oversaw an extensive refurbishment.
There are a total of 185 bedrooms at the Horwood House, designed with the needs of the business executive in mind. it should be noted that only a small number of the bedrooms are located in the original manor house.

Standard rooms are available as singles, doubles and twins. They are thoughfully furnished to provide a relaxing environment for the business or leisure traveller. There are also some adapted doubles which are located on the ground floor or near the elevator.
Superior Doubles are larger and more luxurious rooms with lovely views of the grounds. These rooms also come with bathrobes and slippers.
The Suite, located in the old Manor House, is the choice for you if you are celebrating a special occasion. The beautifully decorated suite has a generously sized separate lounge area with a sofa and comfy chairs for you to spread out and relax in.
The Tempus Restaurant is a contemporary setting in which to enjoy the varied menu which is on offer at the Horwood House. Fresh, seasonal ingredients are used where possible.
Breakfast is served between 7am and 9am on weekdays and between 8am and 10am at weekends and bank holidays.
Lunch is available on weekdays between 12pm and 2pm.
Dinner is served between 6.30pm and 9.30pm from Sunday to Thursday and from 7pm to 9.30pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
The Tempus Bar has an extensive lounge menu for more informal dining and is also a lively and relaxed place to enjoy a drink and unwind. Food is served between midday and 10pm daily.
The Horwood House is a prime conference venue near Milton Keynes with an impressive 36 meeting rooms of varying sizes. The largest meeting room is the Cook Suite which can accommodate 220 delegates in a theatre style layout while the Eyre Suite can accommodate 120 theatre style. Moreover the lovely grounds and breadth of outdoor space means that there are plenty of options for teambuilding activities.

The Horwood House has plenty of leisure activities for visitors to enjoy. There is a heated indoor swimming pool and sauna as well as a fully equipped gym and snooker room.
Ouside there is an all-weather tennis court, a putting green and a jogging trail.
The hotel's leisure facilities are open to over-18s only. However children are permitted to use the pool at the following times:
Monday- Thursday during school holidays: 2pm to 4pm
Friday and Saturday: 10am to midday and 2pm to 5pm
Sunday: 10am to 3pm
The Horwood House is positioned in the heart of Buckinghamshire, around 11 miles from Milton Keynes, and there is plenty to see and do in the surrounding area. Woburn Safari Park, the Roald Dahl Museum, Gulliver's Land, Woburn Abbey, Towcester Racecourse and Silverstone are all a short drive away.
By air: The hotel is approximately 26 miles from Luton Airport, about 40 minutes by car. Heathrow Airport is about an hour away by car.
By rail: The nearest railway station is Milton Keynes, around 11 miles away. The journey takes around 20 minutes by taxi.
By road: The distance from the M1 is 14 miles and from the M40 2o miles. Parking at the hotel is extensive and complimentary.
